Statements and Answers

 Statements : Agree or Disagree
1. Your intelligence is something very basic about you that you can't change very much.
I disagree with this statement because there's no such thing as being smart. There are people who try hard learn things more each day and there's others who decide to not use their brain.
2. You can learn new things, but you can't really change how intelligent you are.
My opinion is that you can learn new things and its does change how intelligent you are because your using your brain to discover new things.
3. No matter how much intelligence you have, you can always change it quite a bit.
I agree with this statements because nobody is ever too smart. There's so many things to still explore and learning doesn't stop.
4. You can always substantially change how intelligent you are.
I agree with this statement because a person can always learn more and use their brain more.

Since reading The Mindset chapter my answers for the statements have become more meaningful. I am understand that the growth mindset sets challenges to make them as goals to overcome. However the fixed mindset prefers to take an easy way out to accomplish something which doesn't nearly mean cheating. During class I see students who have a fixed mindset and those who have a growth mindset. Everyone is different on how they want to do certain things. This mindset chapter is important to everyone to understand how to be a better person on a everyday basis. My classmates and I now understand the difference and can decide what's better. A difference between the two mindsets are how much effort we put into goals and it all shows. Therefore my answers for the statements have become more significant to me and everyone else should be aware of their mindset.

Another Tuesday

Quick Write:
As a student I am not perfect. If I could change how much effort I put in my school assignments, I believe I would have better grades. Also, I don't study at all.

Reflection:
Connecting the reading that I have read so far and my quick write the main idea is effort. A mindset can become better by changing the type of effort you put to challenging your self instead of just completing things. Students rather just complete assignments and not really pay attention to how they can improve and give more effort to things. In the reading it says, "The passion for stretching yourself and sticking to it, even (or especially) when its not going well, its the hallmark of the growth mindset." This quote means putting more effort in a task even if your failing can help improve your mindset. Therefore, my quick write and what I have read so far in "The Mindsets" concludes to effort.

Quick Write

How tough am I? I believe I am mentally stronger than people think. My experiences have made me stronger as a person. I have lived in bad neighborhoods and going through some experiences have changed me.

After reading the article "How to be As Tough As A Drill Sergeant",   I would change my quick write. I would change it because there's always more ways to improve how mentally strong I am. During challenging times, I can get frustrated if I cant resolve or accomplish something. But until I'm not happy with my challenge I wouldn't stop trying.

 Essential Questions:
  1. What do you think makes you mentally stronger?
  2. How does your emotion relate to you being mentally strong?
  3. How does being mentally strong affects an individual?
